COALDALE, AB â Before they hit the ice as your official Provincial Championship hosts, the U18 Cobras want to celebrate with the fans who make the "Snake Pit" roar!
The community is officially invited to the Coaldale Sportsplex on March 20th for an exclusive "Skate with the Cobras" evening. This is a high-energy, family-friendly event where fans of all ages can get up close with the players, grab a selfie with the squad, and feel the Provincial hype firsthand.
After battling through the CAHL playdowns in Cremona and Bentley, the boys are back home and ready to give back to the town that supports them.

To ensure a safe and fun environment for our youngest fans and our players, please note:
HELMETS ARE MANDATORY: Every person on the ice must wear a CSA-approved helmet.
NO HOCKEY STICKS: This is a "skate-only" event. Please leave the sticks and pucks at home!

The Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and will officially kick off the 2026 Hockey Alberta U18 A Provincial Championships in Blackfalds.

The Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and will officially kick off the 2026 Hockey Alberta U18 A Provincial Championships in Blackfalds.
All qualified teams will be introduced and recognized as they take part in a formal team entrance. The ceremony will include welcoming remarks from event organizers and community representatives, acknowledgment of our sponsors and volunteers, and a celebration of the athletes who have earned the opportunity to compete at Provincials.
The Opening Ceremonies are an important part of the championship experience, setting the tone for a weekend of high-level competition, sportsmanship, and community pride. We encourage all teams, families, and fans to attend and help us launch the tournament in true provincial fashion.

The banquet is designed to provide athletes with an opportunity to connect off the ice and recognize the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance that led them to Provincials. The evening will include a meal, acknowledgements of participating teams, recognition of sponsors and volunteers, and a special guest speaker who will share an inspiring message with the players.
This event is intended to celebrate not only the competition, but the character, sportsmanship, and commitment that define U18 A hockey. It is an important part of the Provincial experience and a memorable highlight of the championship weekend.
